“For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants” (Psalm 135:14, ESV).
Reflection on God’s supremacy (vv.6-7) and faithfulness in the past (vv.8-12) leads not only to the adoration of His glory (v.13), but also to confidence in His delivering power in things to come (v.14). God’s saving work shows both His might and His mercy. He grants His children victory, and looks with kindness upon their sufferings.
We can have confidence in God. Though life is hard and we face many difficulties, and even seasons of tremendous suffering, God will bring His people through in the end. Looking to Him, we can face any challenge. His utter sovereignty and His matchless grace are the assurance of our certain hope.
